چکیده

We searched for bioactive substances involved in flower bud formation of Arabidopsis thaliana. some significantly decreasing HPLC peaks were detected in the extract of flower buds-forming A. thaliana compared with that of the non-flower bud-forming stage. Compound 1, which corresponded to the most decreased HPLC peak, was isolated from aerial parts of A. thaliana. From NmR and ms data, compound 1 was identified as one of the monogalactosyl diacylglyceride (mGDG). Compound 1 induced flower bud formation of A. thaliana exposed to long day condition for only 1 day. These results suggest that compound 1 as a precursor or a substrate of flower bud-forming substances plays important roles in the flower bud formation of A. thaliana.

Gene transcriptomic profile in arabidopsis thaliana mediated by radiation-induced bystander effects

Background: The in vivo radiation-induced bystander effects (RIBE) at the developmental, genetic, and epigenetic levels have been well demonstrated using model plant Arabidopsis thaliana (A. thaliana). However, the mechanisms underlying RIBE in plants are not clear, especially lacking a comprehensive knowledge about the genes and biological pathways involved in the RIBE in plants. Materials and...

Poplar FT2 shortens the juvenile phase and promotes seasonal flowering.

Many woody perennials, such as poplar (Populus deltoides), are not able to form flower buds during the first several years of their life cycle. They must undergo a transition from the juvenile phase to the reproductive phase to be competent to produce flower buds. After this transition, trees begin to form flower buds in the spring of each growing season. The genetic factors that control flower...

Interaction between aspterric acid and indole-3-acetic acid on reproductive growth in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Application of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) with a pollen growth inhibitor, aspterric acid (AA), results in the recovery of normal pollen development. In contrast, application of gibberellin (GA3) with AA do not induce normal pollen growth. In addition, application of different concentrations of IAA with AA shortens the period of growth from bolting to first flowering as compared to that treated ...

No Flower no Fruit – Genetic Potentials to Trigger Flowering in Fruit Trees

The development of flower buds and a sufficient fruit set are basic requirements for fruit growers to generate a marketable crop. However, fruit trees remain in a juvenile (nonflowering) phase for years, and after a transition period of getting reproductively competent they enter the adult phase of tree life. The reproductive phase is associated with the ability to alternate between the product...

Yeast Two Hybrid cDNA Screening of Arabidopsis thaliana for SETH4 Protein Interaction

SETH4 coding sequence with 2013 bp is a member of gene family expressed in gametophytic tissues of Arabidopsis thaliana. This fragment was PCR amplified using Kod Hi Fi DNA polymerase enzyme. This fragment was cloned into pGBKT7 bate vector and transformed E. coli DH5? cells containing vector were selected on LB medium containing Kanamycin. Finally, pGBKT7-SETH4 bate was transformed into yeast ...
